Association of Ukrainian Orthodontists is a public organization with more than 500 professional
members. The main objective of AOU is the unification of efforts to promote the development and
strengthening of the full cooperation of its members; assistance to professional activity in the
field of orthodontics in Ukraine and protection of the interests of the members of the
Association in general. The protection is performed by maintaining the prestige of the
orthodontic profession in society with the help of high requirements to the qualification of
professionals and to the quality of their results.
AOU works closely with international professional associations, like World Federation of
Orthodontists (WFO), European Orthodontic Society (EOS), American Association of Orthodontists
(AAO) and others.
Any practicing orthodontist who obtained the specialization in orthodontics and agrees to adhere to the Statute of the AOU and the Ethical Code of the orthodontist can become a member of AOU.

“How to choose a good orthodontist?”- one of the main questions for a person who desires to have a beautiful smile, therefore- a correct bite. An Orthodontist is a doctor that straightens teeth and corrects the bite in adults and children.
Orthodontics is probably the most difficult and intellectual dental specialty. Nowadays, the field is rapidly changing in Ukraine and abroad.
It is worth trusting your health to a specialist if they: 1. Are a certified orthodontist 2. Are a member of the AOU and are adhering to the Ethical Code of the orthodontist. 3. Are using various methods of patient examination. 4. Are establishing and reporting to the patient with an “understandable” treatment plan. 5. Have positive feedback regarding their professional activity from colleagues. 6. Are using an interdisciplinary treatment approach.
